Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the grocery department, including sales, customer service, and inventory control.
- Train and develop a team of grocery clerks to ensure excellent customer service and efficient operations.
- Maintain organized and well-stocked shelves, ensuring products are properly labeled and rotated.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders to replenish stock as needed.
- Implement strategies to maximize sales and meet department goals.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training new employees.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other department managers to coordinate store-wide initiatives.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a grocery management role or as an assistant manager is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in inventory control procedures and systems.
- Knowledge of sales techniques and strategies to drive revenue growth.
- Familiarity with training and development programs for employees.
